A Study on Development of Video Tape for Clinical Nursing Practice

Abstract
This study is designed to enhance the effect of clinical training by providing second-hand experience to nursing trainees. Toward this end, the scenes of clinical training, particulary, those of learning the most difficult clinical techniques
were
taped
and shown to trainees before the outset of their clinical training program.
It was found that the programs featuring the on-the-job learning process of clinical techniques presented to trainees under the direction of the professors in charge notably helped to relieve the psychological burden accompanying the training
process
and thus facilitated the learing of integrated theories and techniques.
The specific clinical techniques for taping here, Nursing Department, Medical School, Chung-Ang University, chosen by a questionaire survey in which 40 sutudents completing the clinical training program at the end of the 6th semester, were asked
to
write down 7 most difficult nursing techniques in the area of adult nursing.
Demonstration by registered nurses now working at the university hospital were taped and presented to trainees.
@ES The scene areas of clinical techniques chosen for taping were as follows;
@EN 1. Colostomy & ileostomy care
1. Wall suction
1. O2 mask & tent
1. Sterile gownning.
1. Sterile gloving
1. Cardiac monitoring
1. Ventilator
